macro monday | SOFT | no. 6 Twirl

Macro Clematis | Neely Wang

This sixth image in my Macro Monday Series SOFT is of a clematis, which is considered the queen of flowering vines and is known for its showy blooms, often changing colour over time. Many bear funny names, like traveller’s joy, old man’s beard and the president. This feathery twirl is actually considered the fruit of a clematis. When I shot this image, all the petals of the clematis had already fallen, leaving this little mop head behind. I love how it has a natural twirl to it, like the soft twirl of a skirt.
