macro monday | SOFT | No. 3 Twist

Macro Succulent | Neely Wang

This image is the third in my Macro Monday Series, SOFT, which breaks the standard rules of deep depth of field macro photography. I love the twists and texture in this succulent — almost like a lizard’s tale. This image is more of an abstract with a focus on shapes and patterns.

I was recently reading about depth of field stacking or focus stacking, which is how some photographers attain that deep depth of field in their macro photography. Just curious to know if any of you have tried if and your thoughts. Thanks!

    • Thank you so much, Yvette — I truly appreciate it! And thank you for sharing your beautiful macros! I love the softness of your images and how you can see the underside of the petal in the second image and practically “touch” that furry bumblebee in the third!

Have something to say? Would love to hear it!
