I recently had the pleasure of taking some photos of my dear friend, Irene, and her three beautiful children. Although I tend to shoot more nature and still life, I have been taking more photos of people lately for various projects and have really been enjoying the challenge. Usually my normal subjects (food, flowers, trees) don’t run circles around me, jump up and down continuously, or run away with my photography equipment!
It was so much fun taking photos of this family! We went out about an hour before the sun was setting, during beloved “golden hour.” Right across the street from Irene’s house was a big empty field where the kids ran around to their hearts’ content. And as I’m not much of a studio-girl, this was perfect. It also helped that the kids didn’t mind being photographed, especially the little one. I loved capturing the tiny details — colorful flower sandals, beautiful blue eyes, a best friend named “Turtley” and the sweet look of a mother and her child. Thank you, Irene, for being a wonderful friend and for letting me capture these priceless moments!
