I am a sucker for a good font. I remember in high school when good ol’ Microsoft Word was all that was around, and everyone used Times New Roman. Hopefully, I won’t date myself, but a few years after that, my husband, who was doing IT for a graphic design firm in Chicago, introduced me to QuarkXpress. I was suddenly in font heaven. I remember saying to him, “You mean, you can actually change the font to all these other cool fonts, resize them and space the letters out? What?!?!?” That day literally changed my life. You may be thinking I’m being a bit overly dramatic, but I bet some of you creatives will understand when I say that finding the perfect font for a project makes me happy… really happy.
And I’ve begun to realize that I keep coming back to the same fonts again and again. Most of them tend to be sans serif fonts (fonts without the little feet), although I’ll never shy away from a beautiful script or a unique serif. I thought it would be nice to have a visual reminder of the fonts I use the most to hang up in my office… and why not make it pretty while I’m at it?
The best thing is that these fonts are all free and can be downloaded from the web!
century gothic :: oswald :: ostrich :: novecento wide :: nexa :: rex :: sackers gothic :: railway
Plus, you can download a copy of font love for your own personal reference!
Some of you have also requested a print copy of my latest tips & tricks about macro photography. A downloadable PDF is now available on the tips & trips | 10 macro photography tips post.

Absolutely lovely!!! I have messed with graphic design since early teens or (perhaps younger), and I know by now how a font can make all the difference!!!! You’re work definitely shows professional skill! :) Love the design!
Thanks so much, northadkphoto! I had a lot of fun putting it together! Glad I’m not the only one who has got a thing for fonts ;)
I looooove fonts and am always on the lookout for new and special ones. I adore playing around with them when creating invitations etc. And I remember the times when you could get “only” about 30 fonts in Word and thought they were all fantastic :-).
Aren’t fonts just so much fun, Kiki? :) Ha Ha — That’s hilarious how you loved those Word fonts! Fonts have truly come a long way :)
Thanks for the very good link, I’ve downloaded fonts all night, just couldn’t stop. ;)
You’re very welcome, Anne! Isn’t it fun? I could download fonts for hours!

Thank you so much, Alejandra! I haven’t decided yet, but a 11×14 might be fun :)

Ha Ha! I know – a little nuts, but oh so fun! ;)
I used to love the good ol’ Comic San. Ahihihi … I actually still do, but rarely use it any more.
Ha Ha — comic sans! I always hear these funny design jokes about comic sans — definitely a “classic” ;)
I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours nowadays, yet I by no means found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made good content material as you did, the net might be much more helpful than ever before.
I’m so glad you found the content helpful, dj la nunta! I think we all have so much to offer one another, and I have learned a lot from generous bloggers and creatives. I just hope to give back and share what I’ve learned with others. Thanks for all the kind words, and thank you for stopping by and sharing!
